IBEW Local 350 (“we”, “us”) runs this website. This policy explains what information the website collects, why, and what we do with it. It covers this website only, not the union’s membership or referral records, which are handled under the union’s own rules.

What we collect

When you contact us. If you use the contact form, we receive your first and last name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, and your message.

When you visit the site. Like most websites, our hosting and security services automatically record technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, your browser and device type, the page you asked for, and the time. This is used to deliver the pages, keep the site secure and fix problems.

We may use an analytics service to see how the site is used, such as which pages are visited, so we can improve it.

Cookies

Like most websites, this site uses cookies and similar technologies, small pieces of data stored in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work and stay secure, for example to protect it from automated traffic or to let a form work as expected. Others may help us understand how the site is used. • Our email delivery service, which delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
• Our email provider, where we read and answer your message.
• An analytics service, if we use one, which receives information about the pages visited.
• The web developer that builds and maintains the site for us.
• Google, only if you choose to show one of our maps: the hall’s location, on several pages, or our jurisdiction, on About Our Local. A map loads from Google Maps after that click, so Google receives your IP address and the page you’re on, under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example in answer to a valid legal request.

Tracking across websites

We don’t follow your activity across other websites, and no other company does through this site, except Google if you choose to show one of our maps. So the site works the same whether or not your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form messages, on the website and in our inbox, for as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record of our correspondence. You can ask us to delete them at any time. Our hosting and security providers keep technical logs for a limited time under their own policies.

How we protect it

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only the people who manage the site and answer inquiries can see contact form messages. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

Your choices

You don’t have to give us any information to read the site. To see, correct or delete what you sent us, contact us using the details below, and we’ll answer as soon as we can.

Children

This website isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Links to other websites

The site links to other websites, such as the IBEW, benefit funds and member portals. They have their own privacy policies, and we aren’t responsible for them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here, and the date at the top of the page will show when it was last updated.
